Modes of Inheritance of Diseases in the Lagotto Romagnolo
Inherited traits or disorders are passed down in a dog’s genetic code.
An autosomal recessive genetic disorder means the dog must receive two copies of the abnormal gene (one from each parent) to show signs of the disorder. Generally, this occurs when both parents are asymptomatic carriers of the disorder.
For Lagotti the tests available should include BFJE, LSD and HUU
